Terms and Conditions
Book Subscriptions/Memberships
Subscriptions are set up on a recurring payment basis.
Once you subscribe, we will place a new order on the same day every month/quarter/year.
You will be automatically charged the same amount for each order.
You can easily manage your subscription or cancel it anytime by logging on to your customer account once you have an active subscription or by contacting us.
Cancelling will prevent your next payment from being taken. Any previous payments are non refundable and any books paid for will be delivered.
All Book Delivery subscriptions benefit from free Postage & Packaging.
Subscriber Discount
All active book delivery subscribers benefit from a further 10% discount on all additional book orders in our shop. The discount can be used an unlimited number of times while you remain subscribed. The discount is non-transferrable. The discount code will be sent to you once you have placed your subscription order.
Pick Your Own Book Club Subscription
If you opt for our 'Pick Your Own' Book Club subscription, please browse our catalogue and use the coupon codes which will be emailed to you within 2 working days of your order to make your book selection. Please check your emails carefully including your junk folders.
You can select any books up to the value of £15 for each delivery. If the books you choose are more than £15, you will be charged the difference in price at the checkout but will still benefit from free delivery.
If you select books with a value of less than £15, the credit is not transferable to a subsequent book club delivery date.
You will have 1 month from receipt of your coupon code to choose your books for your delivery. After 1 month, if a selection hasn't been made, we will choose and dispatch a surprise first delivery.
You will be sent a unique coupon code to make your book choices prior to each delivery. If a selection hasn't been made by the deadline, we will choose and deliver a surprise choice.
Your Book Club subscription package will be shipped within 2 working days of receiving your book choices or the deadline - whichever comes first.
Genre-based Book Club Subscriptions
If you choose one of our Surprise Me Book Club Subscriptions, e.g 'Thriller Fiction', we will surprise you with carefully chosen books from your chosen genre.
We will dispatch your order within 2 working days of your order date and at quarterly intervals thereafter while your subscription remains active.
If you do not like the titles we send you, or have already read them, we regret we are unable to offer refund or exchange. If you would like to be sure of receiving books you want, we suggest you choose the 'Pick Your Own' option
Old School Bookshop Book Club
Old School Bookshop Book Club bookings are fully refundable if you provide 14+ days notice and the book is returned in the condition you received it (new and unread).
Cancellations within 14 days of the Book Club meeting are non refundable but it may be possible to transfer your ticket to another person at the discretion of Old School Bookshop.
Should Old School Bookshop cancel a book club meeting, you are entitled to a refund within 5 working days. We may contact you to offer you an option to transfer your booking to another day but you are still entitled to a refund if you prefer.
Books ordered as part of the Old School Bookshop Book Club are available for local pickup only. Please choose the free local pickup option on the shipping page unless you are ordering other items for delivery at the same time.
Old School Bookshop Book Club Subscriptions
While you remain subscribed your place at the book club remains secure.
You can apply for up to 2 months of 'holiday' refunds per year without losing your membership place. Please contact us with at least 14 days notice of the event to claim your refunds. If you still wish to collect and read that month's book during your 'holiday' or have already collected your book, you will be refunded your monthly fee less £10.
Any books collected by members prior to payment remain the property of Old School Bookshop until payment is complete.
Old School Bookshop Book Club Subscribers benefit from 15% off all products and events in the shop and on our online store - Book Bubble - (excluding subscription products). Members will be emailed a voucher code to use online or in store. The discount is valid for purchases made by Book Club Members only and is non transferrable.
